Call of Duty fans, we have some good news for you today. According to Treyarch, Black Ops 2 will support dedicated servers. The company has not provided any more info than that, so we don’t know whether they will follow Infinity Ward’s and Sledgehammer’s example of disabling dedicated servers on ranked matches. Here is hoping that Treyarch will not pull something like that in Black Ops 2, as they were quite friendly with PC gamers in the first Black Ops (don’t forget that we got both dedicated servers and mod tools).
In other news, Cesar Stastny – Treyarch’s lead PC developer – revealed that there will be some Steam pre-order bonuses for Black Ops 2. Unfortunately, Stastny did not reveal what these bonuses will actually be. Our guess is that a DLC might be given for free for those who decide to pre-order it via Valve’s distribution service. Be sure to stay tuned as we’ll definitely inform you about those Steam bonuses.
Last but not least, Cesar said that the in-game mouse sensitivity will not be as ‘slow’ as the previous Call of Duty title. A lot of PC gamers had issues with mouse acceleration and felt that the general sensitivity was ‘slower’. When a fan asked about what had happened to the evolution line that made the mouse “slower”, Cesar replied and said that this time around, mouse doesn’t feel “slower” in Black Ops 2.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is currently slated for a November 13th release on current generation consoles and PC!
